The Art of Bruce Nauman
This is a video that shows the different installations that Bruce Nauman has created, Bruce Nauman has been said to be one of the best living American artist. His work being very mind provoking and makes the audience think and react in certain ways. I have chosen this artist as i want my installations and art to be very mind provoking and make the audience think and react in different ways. I personaly think that Bruce Nauman's work is very thoughtful and planned out. My two favourites being 'The Double No' and also 'Clown Tourture'

Nauman's use of Neon is particularly interesting, it gives a real sense of instance and iddediacy to his work. How couold you incorporate an aspect of this in your work? Perhaps look at ligt bulbs? Flashing bulbs, torches? You could even inscribe into the bulb and film it flickering on and off. Graet research, very interesting artist to study. I think what you should definitely take from Nauman's work is the 'conveying of a message' - he does this so well. Nauman gets his message across through speech and text, you may not be using speech or text so much, you will probably end up using more imagery so how are you going to make sure your 'message' gets conveyed?
